Is anyone familiar with Northwell Jewish hospital in Forest hills or New York Presbyterian in Flushing?

Currently these are my top two choices in queens that are partnered with my OB. I’m not sure what I should be looking for when making my decision on where I’d give birth. Both are equal in distance from my home, one seems like a smaller hospital and another a more commercial hospital. Any tips or advice? Or experience with either of these?

Omg thank you! This is so helpful, especially hearing your first hand experience! The link would be amazing. Do you know if the have classes leading up to birth? I didn’t see any when browsing on their website, and did immediately with NYP (mostly just curious)

Nyp is the best hospital, thats the one i attend

I think you can go to the l&d unit and ask them for a tour of the floor

I don’t know what forest hills is like but my overall experience with Northwell has been great. NYP Queens is a popular hospital generally. Don’t know anything about their l&d

NYP in flushing can do better. I would side more with Northwell - I’ve supported births at both

Nyp in manhattan is very clean, have inexpensive of the best doctors

normal or infected?

5 weeks post c section , i went at the beginning of the week as my wound had opened completely different area to what’s leaking. was told it didn’t look infected. anyone know if this is normal coming off it, it’s only a little amount at a time

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Baby names

My daughter‘s name is valentýna and I’m struggling to find other nice girl and boy names beginning with V I’ve got a few and I’ve got loads that aren’t beginning with V, but I feel like I wanna go for all vs and I also love girl and boys names that match so because my daughter’s name is valentýna I would love to call my son Valentino my husband does not agree 😃

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

I am so done with pregnancy !

Everything i do hurt . I sit down / i stand up / i walk / i lie down. I am in pain ! I am tired ! His mouvement hurt down there like electricity chock ! My back is on fire ! If i walk more then 5 minutes i feel like i am going to die ( low ferritine) the acid reflux is crazy . I mean i can’t and don’t wanna do this no more . Only 31 weeks !

Almost 37 weeks + told to do another growth scan

I just had my second to last doctor’s appointment this morning, and my OB told me she wants me to do another growth scan because my belly is measuring small. She says it’s probably just because I’m a smaller woman, but they like to be safe. It’s hard to hear though, since I just did one a couple months ago.

I did this with my firstborn around this time of pregnancy, so I do think I just carry smaller (even though I don’t feel like I look “small” at all). My first baby was 6lbs 15oz when she was born at 41 weeks + 2 days. I’m having this baby at 39 weeks on April 7. I hope she’s still at least 6lbs.

Anyone have any stories similar to this?
