My due date is next week and have been thinking about plans if I don’t go into spontaneous labour. My midwife has said as long as everything’s fine with baby I can go up to 41+5/42 weeks waiting.
I really don’t want to go down the induction route and tbh would rather have a c sec in that instance. Just wondered everyone’s thoughts/plans in case of similar circumstance!

Hello I have the exact same thoughts- I have made it clear to my midwife I will refuse to be induced. I was hoping that might make them give me a C section date for around 42 weeks but nothing so far (I am 38 + 4) but equally I know they can’t force induction on you and you just have to stay firm if you do end up in the situation where they are saying baby needs to come out and they’ll have to do a C section it might just not be that planned in advance, I’d definitely discuss it with your midwife though if you haven’t already so it can be recorded on your notes at least

Make it clear to everyone you don’t want to be induced and that you want to opt for a c-section instead. I’ve said this to my midwives and consultants that if baby doesn’t arrive naturally I want a c-section

My due date is also next week and I have the same thoughts - I do not want induced either

I’ve got my 40 week appt Tuesday so I think I’m gonna mention it again to them!
