Not using gestures

My LO will be 11 months next week and doesn't use gestures yet.

He's clapped once or twice but that's about it. He hasn't waved or pointed yet.

Just wondering if there are other babies in a similar situation?

The only thing he does is gives us a hi-5 😅 which isn't evena thing in this age bracket. Wondering if it's just that we don't use the gestures enough / started doing it late that might be affecting him? We've o ly consciously been waving, pointing last month or so. Otherwise it's been more verbal from our end.

He cruises on furniture, is very active, crawls, climbs onto the couch etc.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. If he’s don’t it once it twice then the potential is there. My son didn’t wave until after his first birthday. He does clap. I would just do lots of nursery rhymes with clapping and waving and just beep practicing. He will pick up.

No crawling or clapping here. But a ton of smiling and experiences. She will do it I’m sure.

My boy sounds the same to yours 🙂
When I was completing his questionnaire I thought the same.
He sometimes waves, used to do a few claps and can’t say I’ve ever seen him point. His gross and fine motor skills are solid though so he absolutely focuses more on that!

that's good to know, thanks! I should look up more nursery rhymes - right now I only do 2 rhymes with clapping. Need to get my rhymes game on 😅😅

I learned all mine from Ms Rachel and noodles and pals

aww yes! They do say every baby developes at their own pace but sometimes i just wonder if I'm not doing something right!

that questionnaire was what got me thinking in the first place. After the HV visited and shared her 'report' with me, she had scored him a bit low on communication and logic skills - she said it wasn't anything to worry and that she would check on us at 12 months so by then he out to have learned....

But I feel like maybe I'm not doing enough to give him exposure to develop those skills! So got me thinking!

haha that's great! Hoping mine does it all next week as he turns 11 months!

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Breastfeeding

Does it ever feel better? The actual feeding part of it is going really well and baby boy is growing so well. I’m struggling with how my boobs feel day to day - it’s really getting me down most days. The let downs make me feel awful and sounds silly but, I am also really missing not wearing a bra! 9 weeks postpartum and still getting fairly engorged, even with comfort pumping.

Any advice or just shared stories would help. I’m so torn between carrying on because I enjoy the feeding side of it or switching to formula.

Help! First time mum -

I have a 4 month old and now all of a sudden when he’s been asleep for 1hr30/2hrs he will wake up screaming (high pitched) I’ve tried winding him sometimes that helps, I’ve tried bicycle legs & bringing his knees up but that doesn’t seem to help but he brings his knees up himself sometimes but nothing happens. I’ve noticed since the 4 month mark he has started to struggle passing wind downwards! Any tips?

Big nursing bras!

I’m looking for recommendations for good nursing bras for bigger breasted ladies!

I’m currently in a 38H which seems to be the biggest size done at M&S (UK based mama here) and it’s snug and not as supportive as I’d like. When I look online, they mainly seem to be sized S, M, L, XL etc rather than bra sizes.

Any recommendations please?

Strange question

Hello. I would identify myself as asexual but yes i am married and i have a child. But now that ive had my baby. I think its solidified that im done having sex. I feel bad as my partner keeps asking me but i just dont want to. Any advice on what i can do? Any other asexual moms out there? I guess this could be confusing but im not huge on being bound by a label. I have just always felt it represented me best since highschool.
