Baby rolled onto stomach tonight and was sleeping comfortably when I noticed. I did move her onto her back, could I have left her? I’m not sure if she knows how to roll back onto her back so I wasn’t sure if it was a risk of SIDS or not leaving her that way. I know obviously when you lay them down it needs to be on their back but what about if they do it themselves?🤷🏽♀️

Following cause my baby has been rolling onto his side lately and almost getting onto his stomach. I let him sleep on his side but I'm terrified of letting him sleep on his stomach especially because he likes to bury his face into the mattress and like shake his head for some reason. I guess it feels good to him but it stresses me out so much

They say as long as you put them on their backs. I guess it’s a matter of if they’re strong enough to roll over then they may be able to handle being on their tummies. Otherwise you’re not gonna get sleep having to keep flipping them back over. But don’t take my word for it. Consult a doctor to be safe

They sell all kinds of anti roll pillows to keep your baby on their side. IF your scared of them rolling over or spitting up. It works pretty good for my baby but mime is a wedge pillow.

I did exactly that, the pediatrician said it is great actually it’s another developmental task completed! As long as she did it on her own that’s fine.

It’s not safe sleep to put anything in the crib while they are sleeping so these pillows go against current guidelines.

AAP guidelines state that if baby rolls you can leave them.

look up what it is.

I am aware of what it is. The AAP advised against using them.

I have a newton mattress which is extremely breathable so I’m not worried.

They are usually able to roll from belly to back first, so if she is rolling from back to belly I’d bet she can roll back
