@Liz what milk do you use?
@Liz perfect thank you! I’m gonna give this a go!
I use Quaker rolled oats and blitz them so they’re a lot finer and add about two teaspoons of oats to about 1oz of milk or slightly more depending how much little one is having and going by eye, gently heated on the stove as it heats more evenly. I use either breast milk or Oatly barista milk as my baby has CMPA and was recommended by Dietican. Also been giving half a weetabix mixed with warmed milk too after a week of being on porridge and little one loves it :). I’d avoid things like Farley Rusks as they have palm oil x
@Olivia oh amazing thank you! I didn’t even think of weetabix! We’ve been giving porridge or purées, we add fruit into her porridge too but I think she wants something a bit thicker now! She seems bored of what she’s having. Wanted to wait until 6 months to try and finger foods but I think I might have to cave and give it a go!x
@Daniella no worries! I didn’t myself it was the dietician who reccomended to me, she also said shreddies are a good option too! You could always try adding fruit purées to porridge too to add different flavour. I started weaning at 5 and a half months too and scared to give solids as of yet so I’m continuing with purées until I feel he’s ready! Good luck with the weaning journey 🥰x
We’ve moved onto ready brek from the Aptimal banana porridge. And then squash in some banana we just make it up with full fat milk. She’s been great on it, she will be 6 months in a week or so and we are now starting to thicken and add lumps to her food. X
@Keri I’ve just been using cows milk.
I put the oats in the food processor to blitz them abit (were only just starting weaning too). I add enough milk so the oats are covered and put it on the microwave for 2 mins
