Baby standing and screaming in cot

When it's bedtime baby just stands and screams in the cot. Even when we go in a lie him down he pops straight back up again. We were trying to sleep train him as he is up a lot in the night and we are exhausted. There's no way he's going to fall asleep stood up though! Any ideas? (He can lie himself down, we have seen him do it, he chooses not to....)

Sounds like hes going through a stage where he needs extra comfort to be able to fall asleep

May I ask what your routine is before putting baby down and what the environment is like?

This! We’ve been here for 2 months and have a rigid routine. Even though my sleep training is to do quick checks every 5 mins, I’ve found I have to sit next to cot longer - firm hand on tummy and sssh to comfort off to sleep

bath, book, bottle, sleeping bag, faint red nightlight, white noise machine, nothing too stimulating. On paper we think it's right but it's just not working...

@Stephanie we do checks but the minute we are out the room hes upright and screaming again. Only way is bum patting and ssshhing but then he's awake again within 2 hrs so we want him to be falling asleep without us.

Sounds like a perfect routine. We do very similar but not a bath every night.

You might need to do checks with more time in between to give him more time to sort himself out. We did Ferber technique so the checks get further apart quite quickly. I think 3, 5, 8 mins was first day, 5, 8, 12 the next day... And so on.

Yes we did the ferber method. He used to stand up in his cot constantly crying and wouldn't lie back down . He did actually fall asleep standing up too 😳 after night 2 it seemed to work, he still occasionally cries but I leave him 5minutes then go in and lie him down. He usually goes back off again no bother

Sleeping bag

8 week old in sleeping bag for first time as big enough! Do you feed your child in the night whilst in the sleeping bag or taken them out, feed then transfer back to sleeping bag before putting down?

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

Am I wrong?

I’ve been wanting to add more garden beds to my garden. Husband says “hey do you want to go to Home Depot to get that wood for the garden beds.” Cool I’m excited I’ve been wanting to get this done for awhile.

We get there and we’re picking out wood and I make 2 comments about how I don’t like how 2 pieces of wood look that he picked out. And he says if you’re going to be this picky then u can do this yourself.

I literally made 2 comments and mind you I’m the one paying for the wood.

I felt dismissed and like my opinion didn’t matter and if I wanted to have an opinion then I need to do it myself. Like what?

It was rude and not okay. Am I wrong? Am I overreacting?

He thinks it was fine that he said that.

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism
