Mum guilt

Anyone else going through a hard time with their second/ still adjusting to being a mum of two?

I have a 5year old and a 5.5month old and of course I wouldn't change them for the world. But I can't help think how much easier it was as a mum of one.

My 5month old is going though a very fussy stage and if he isn't eating or sleeping, his wake period can be tiring tying to keep him happy and entertained.

The mum guilt is real and the days are long, but I know it won't last forever.

Yep same age gap here and my daughter started school the day o had my second! Feel that she has to fend for herself a little but! Think it’s the thing I’ve found the hardest to be honest x

Same here. Iv had mum guilt from day 1. My eldest has just turned 19 months and youngest 5 months and I feel so guilty some days that I’m not spending as much time with the eldest who doesn’t always understand that I can’t play with her at that moment because I’m feeding/changing the baby etc but also on the flip side I feel like I’m not doing as much with my youngest like I did with my eldest because I have one or the other to tend too. I know it won’t last forever but it doesn’t stop you from feeling guilty

Yes I can fully relate to this. Our 2.5 year old daughter is really struggling atm with sharing our attention with her baby brother and it’s coming out in her behaviour (she’s been hitting 😭). She doesn’t like it when I feed the baby (he’s breastfed) and I have to make a special effort to make her feel loved. It’s kind of heartbreaking 💔

my due date with my second was the first day of reception but thankfully I went over a week so I could take her to school for her first day. We must be close in age gaps then!

Yeah it’s a lot but it’s a lot more love too, less time to myself but I know when I have more time to myself I’ll be wishing for my babies to be back in my arms. Regardless of how things are I try to remember that.

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Is it bad of me to think this or no?

My husband has been abroad for work (1 day and exploring for 1 day) for 2 and a half days which means I’ve had both kids (1 year and 4 year old) for 2 and a half days plus cooking, cleaning, taking them to clubs, bedtimes!
He came home late afternoon and said I’m so tired, I just need to chill. I said can you wash up whilst I sort kids dinner out, he said he’ll do it later which means he won’t do it and I’ll end up doing it so I said no do it now please otherwise I’ll end up doing it and he said well you have been home and I’ve been away so you’ve just been relaxing.
Don’t know what planet he is on but having the kids alone for 2.5 days is not relaxing. I was stressed!

When he was away, I did miss him and wanted him to come back but now he’s back, I want him to go away again😂
Is that bad?

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

People telling you your baby is hungry..

I know people don’t always mean it in a bad way and are trying to relate, but when people say my baby is hungry when chewing his hands. I feed him regularly. He eats pretty much every 2 hours. He isn’t hungry, he just loves chewing and exploring his hands. Or they say something about teething, which it is also not, as he isn’t unsettled with it. I have looked into it myself and can be common and neither of those things! He has done it most of the day since 2 months old.
