Possessive MIL

So whenever my MIL comes to our or we go to their place she makes it a thing that I can’t hold my baby. when baby is reaching out to me or starting to cry looking in my direction she turns him away. She will purposely make sure that someone else is holding my baby and not me ! When I want to breastfeed when baby is a bit fussy she holds on to him and says he doesn’t need my breast. When we’re out she will make sure to take him from me and let someone who I don’t even know hold him. I really hate it ! How do I politely tell her to fuck off and that it’s my baby in the politest way ? I feel so helpless and bullied sometimes and like I lose control of my own baby 😫

I’ve been in your position and it hurts so much, honestly I’m not sure you need to be so polite, your mil definitely isn’t showing you any politeness or respect as the child’s mother!
It sounds like she needs very clear boundaries, because honestly you don’t want to be looking back and wondering what impact mil has had. When she says all these things, you are the one who knows your baby best, not her!

take your baby back, that is your baby! don’t let her tell you how to parent/ be a mother. if she does something you don’t like you tell her! as above she’s not being very polite so why should you, when it’s YOUR baby & not hers? these MILs make me wanna scream!!😤

Avatar

My mil used to always do that. Or say you don’t need mummy but you can have daddy. And it totally backfired now my 4 year old won’t even give her a cuddle because he has no trust for her. I used to just say you want mummy you can always have mummy when you need me and just take him back.

Avatar

Stop being polite. NO! The baby needs me, you're not the mother ill have him back

Avatar

My MIL has tried this - I will just reach in and take him back. He even went through a phase of 6 months of crying if she was even in the room (I swear it’s because she once told me to not feed him and that she wasn’t done holding him as I took him from her arms… he knows). Don’t be polite, be stern and take your baby.

Avatar

How have you let her get away with this up until now :/ that’s so disrespectful and weird of her.
be direct and stop letting her bully you. its YOUR child
and especially the part about him reaching for you and her not letting him come is so nasty of her.
be stern and speak up. tell her she will no longer have the privilege of spending time with your child if she continues with her petty and disturbing behavior.

Avatar

Don't be polite. That is your child, she has absolutely no rights.

Avatar

Also just to add she won’t respond to politeness, she knows what she’s doing and if there is a chance she can get away with it she will continue.
My mil didn’t talk to me for a month once just because when she did t want to let me hold my crying son I said “he’s my son”. She tried to create so much trouble my husband actually said “maybe don’t call them your children in front of her”. These crazy mil’s will just keep doing what they want, no matter what damage it causes unless you set clear boundaries.

Avatar

Just don't let her hold baby anymore and explain that until she can be more respectful, she's lost the privilege. And yeah, it IS a privilege bc it's not HER child. Baby is YOURS.

Avatar

Tell her firmly she needs to respect your wishes/you as a mother and not keep your baby from you. If she doesn’t listen then start baby wearing whenever you see her and don’t let her take him

Avatar

Next time your child is crying for you, firmly tell that bitch that if she does not hand him over NOW, she will never see him again.

Avatar

What a nasty women! No don’t be polite to her, I would reach out and grab my baby!

Avatar

My mil is exactly the same. I tried being polite at the start. Now I just don’t let go of him so she doesn’t get a chance

Avatar

I wouldn't be polite at all. Is she sick ??? TAKE MY BABY BACK MIL... if she doesn't, slow down visit time until she learn that this baby is not HIS baby and she learn to respect you as her grandson's mother.

Avatar

You take your baby back and tell her to fuck off.

Avatar

Are you kidding me? This is horrid. My MIL was like this ONE time, once, and I shut it down. She came up to me, opening and shutting her hands like fists saying "you've been holding him so much, I haven't had a chance too. Hand him over" and I looked her dead in the eyes and said "because he's a newborn and breastfeeding on demand. No. Don't ask me again" ☠️ women like that can fuck off

Avatar

don’t call them your children in front of her?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Avatar

I know partners really don’t help much sometimes🤦🏻‍♀️ I made it very clear to him what I thought of that! Unfortunately it’s the only way, to stick up for yourself!

Avatar

I just would just see her as little as possible 🤣

Avatar

Why are you trying to be polite? You need to firmly say give me my baby. Also id just stop letting her hold the baby altogether

Avatar

What the hell! I wouldn’t allow her to ever see my baby again!!!
She is traumatizing and abusing your baby! This isn’t the time to be polite.

I would tell her to fuck off and she isn’t allowed to see your baby anymore!

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
