Hi so my toddler (4 yr old) has been sleeping in our bed and I've quite liked it but now I'm a bit worried because due to give birth next week and I'm worried that he won't sleep with the baby waking up in the night/the bed being cramped etc. I know I've shot myself in the foot here but does anyone have any advice please?

Get them their own bed with their favorite characters sheets/blankets and some cool stuffies to sleep with. Also they are not a toddler anymore! Lol 🙂 treat them like a bigger kid and make it fun for them to sleep in their own bed/room if you’re also trying that you can decorate their room so it’s a cool space to be in

oops, you're right he isn't! 😳 I've tried to make it fun, and he has a bed with a slide on it and everything but I didn't know whether it was the right time with the baby coming? Xx

This Happen with my 2 year old and yes his little brother woke him up every time lol
My 2 year old chose a new bed toy and character bedding (he chose it all so we have a paw patrol pillow case and a Pokémon blanket with Pooh bear sheets) 🤣🤣

I’d try not to do it when baby is born just in case they think they’re being pushed out for baby and it causes resentment. My eldest was a real snuggler and loved sleeping with me. We moved to ‘going to bed’ in his own bed, he had sooo many teddies with him and I sat with him for a little while. Then would play the same music and leave the room. He’d call out regularly to ensure I was there and then he’d fall asleep. Without fail he’d end up in my bed in the early hours but I didn’t mind at all. It was a step to independence.
Definitely start discussing it now and mention that it doesn’t mean you can’t be with him or he can’t come to
You, but how exciting that he gets to make his very own bed somewhere for all his favourite things and have a lovely sleep. Hope this helps and if it doesn’t work, it will happen one day! Don’t beat yourself up x

Galaxy night light your favorite old shirt(don't wash it) over a body pillow and take the pillow case off your pillow and put it under there's.
Favorite characters on sheets blankets and stuffies are the way to go. Make it fun and make sure they have a piece of you with them. Your smell is important. Also they sell these stuffies at have beany bags in them that go in the microwave and then back in the stuffies. It makes them feel warm. That might help too.

I have a 2 year old and a 5 month old. Still cosleep and my son woke up twice from her crying since she’s been born 😂 he def got used to it quick lol
