My little girl is 10 months old and she still isn’t crawling, she tries really hard to but she can’t get her feet on the ground enough to move forward, what can I do to help her?

My daughter started properly crawling this week she’s 10 months 2 weeks. I just kept getting on the floor with her and encouraging her to move and grip socks as well was a big help so she wasn’t sliding x

thank you, we have Lino and not carpet so that’s another factor x

I do think it’s just a matter of every baby is different. It’s hard not to compare but as long as we encourage them. My daughter has been trying for so long then all of a sudden just started x

it really is hard to not compare them, my son was crawling at 6-7 months x

I know! even when I see people in this group of their babies walking some even younger it’s hard not to worry that your child’s behind but all I think is she’s happy and healthy everyone does things in their own time x

yeah exactly x

My 11 month old will only army crawl . He loves to stand and walk around his table though .

she won’t even stand up unaided she falls almost straight away x

we started with him standing on the couch and kinda leaning forward on the back of it so he was looking out the window.

I’ll have to try it x

Lots of tummy time and encouragement

thank you x

Practice with kneeling will help build her core muscles which are necessary for crawling. I used one of these short play tables and encouraged her to kneel in front of it to hit the buttons. It’s also good for when they start practicing standing and isn’t expensive.

thank you x

It’s normal! My baby started on 4 at 9.5 months. He army crawled for months !

@chloe every baby is different. And honestly there’s such a wide range that’s acceptable. My pediatrician said as long as they are crawling by 12 months. We have lino and wood floors but having socks with grip helped my son have confidence with crawling and now he’s cruising. Also having toys that are interesting just out of his reach motivated him to crawl and hold on to the furniture and walk to it.

thank you x

Shell get there x x
