Postpartum anxiety

I gave birth to my little one 13 months ago I had the baby blues and I was in denial about postparum depression but my friend reached out who also had a baby and said she thought I might have it but I was in big denial thinking it’s just normal constant worries I’ve been really struggling with postparum anxiety I’ve a seen a gp and agreed I would go to therapy but it’s been months now since I’ve last spoke tp my gp I can’t seem to get myself there or to therapy I’ve really bad social anxiety and I’m worried about leaving my baby for the duration being in therapy I’ve major guilt that I was in denial for so long and that I get so upset so easily. My partner and my mum think going to therapy is a bad idea both for different reasons.

I feel like sick to my stomach heart palpitations and I feel like I start to panic freeze and sweaty with stress when someone is holding or touching my little one especially his hair or top of his head because of his soft spot.

I worry about people being too rough with him even if it’s just gentle playing.
I talk to my partner about all my worries but I feel like he gets angry with me and dismiss any worries I have. Or he takes my worries as a personal attack especially that my worries are about his parents and his family around my little one. I worry that people just won’t know how to be careful with him and I worry what if they get frustrated with him and I worry what if they will hurt him I know it’s all irrational but I can’t get past it and end up having a panic attack.

I still struggle to eat during the day because I’m worried about my little one trying to make sure his needs are met because of this i lose my appetite until my partner comes home from work.

I’ve been struggle to sleep because I’m awake exhausted worrying about the way my baby sleeps or analysing what went on during the day.

When it’s morning I end up so exhausted I can barely get up and my partner ends up late for work every morning.

My little one still doesn’t sleep through the night he wakes regularly too.

I’m so stressed and worried all the time and the free time I have I don’t want to do any of my old hobbies I just stress and pick at my hair scalp and face I know it’s so gross.

I’ve been struggling to brush my teeth wash my hair take showers my hair ends up so matted by the time I do take a shower. I’ve lost so much hair. I end up biting off so much skin off my lips too till they bleed and I don’t even realise it till I taste the blood.

Same here. I think medication and therapy are the only thing that will help. I might stop breastfeeding and just use formula at one year because my mental health is so bad. I’ve been taking magnesium because it can help with stress but be careful if you take it because it can be toxic in large amounts. I understand being scared to go to therapy. I canceled a 2 hour hair appointment because i was scared to leave her and it sometimes seems like my ppa is getting worse not better. You can do therapy on zoom now though. I’ve been looking into ketamine clinics because you only have to go once a month for some options and aren’t groggy everyday with baby and can still breastfeed but idk. It’s so hard.

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

I feel like just a milk cow

Hi I have a 16 day old via c section, I'm a FTM never having been around babies before as I am the youngest of my household and from a small family. My husband is fantastic with our little one. But ever since I've had the baby I just feel like the only thing I'm good for is producing milk. I feel disconnected from my husband like the only reason he's around is because am producing milk. We were having some issues before the baby and we're struggling it took a while to feel like he was onboard even though he said he was from the moment we found out. I dunno if I'm feeling like a spear part because I'm lacking confidence with baby or because I feel like he wouldn't mind being a single dad. Is this postpartum hormones or something else?

How long did it take for your child’s circumcision to heal and you could give him a bath?

I’ve just been wiping him down with a fiber wash cloth but I just wanted to know from others experience on how long it took

Guilt

Does anyone else feel guilty for every little thing they do? I feel like I need to be entertaining my little one at all times. If I have to put her in the activity center to finish a task, instant guilt. In the car for too long, instant guilt. Replying to work emails instead of interacting with her, instant guilt. I know independent play is good for her but my brain thinks otherwise. Please tell me it gets better, I’d love to shower for more than 10 minutes without it feeling like the world is going to collapse.
