I have a 2yo and she has a strong feed to sleep preference. She has naps fine both at daycare and for her dad but bedtime is still me only.
In fairness we don't try very often, only a couple of Saturdays a month when I need to stay out a little later (I come home around 8.30) her bedtime is around 8.30 but instead of going to sleep she will resist sleep until I get home but also get really anxious until I get home and also just scream inconsolably for about the hour before I get home.
My partner is stressed because he thinks he's doing something wrong, and now I'm worried because what if I've inflicted some sort of separation anxiety onto her or something? (I suffer from anxiety myself)
Ughhhh. I just feel so shitty and I honestly thought until i had a kid that by 2yo this would be getting easier. Somethings gotta give because I deserve a couple of later nights out a month. I'm stressed and sad and I don't know the answer.

I’m sorry, mama. Have you tried having both you and your partner do bedtime routine together? I wonder if you do that for about a week if then you can wean it so it is just him.

I agree with the poster above. She needs to get used to her dad, so if he can do it with you for a while so she can get used to him.
we don't, only because he works 60 hour weeks so literally comes home for dinner and then I do bedtime while he does clean up. We just haven't been dedicated to the routine and I know it's biting us in the bum now but we've just been taking the easy route I guess! Not that it's easy haha.
curious to hear more about how to implement this? Like should he lay in the bed with us for a couple of nights? Is this something that you've done and how did it work?
We all cosleep together once she's in our bed from about 10pm so she's used to him being there while she sleeps in that sense
