Well done you! 🤩
I’m 38 weeks tomorrow and tried for the first time today and only managed to get a tiny bit after about 20 minutes of trying 😒
Will try again tomorrow and see if I can get a bit more 🤞🏽 xx

I turned 37 weeks on Thursday and thought let’s give it a try
I sat in the bath to chill for a bit let the hot water help with the boobs haha, massaged them and then just a little squeeze and it started coming out.
Do you have the hot and cold pads you can warm up and somewhere you can chill for it a bit that might help if you haven’t tried that xx

Having a bath first sounds like a good idea, thank you I’ll give that a go. ☺️
I just found it was coming out in tiny droplets and didn’t know if that was normal or if it should be more of a flow type thing 🥴🤣 xx

honestly do it in the bath that’s what I’ve literally just done 🤣
mines was tiny! And the more you massage the more it was coming out and just suck it up with the syringe!
You’ve got this ❤️❤️

@Stephanie well done you! Are you having a c section or is it good to harvest for natural birth too?

Haha amazing! Thanks lovely ❤️ xx

you can harvest for any type of birth, also good to have for like if the baby ever has a cold or that xx

@Stephanie that's good to know. So you freeze it? How long does it last frozen?

yeah just freeze it and just take it out when ready to use it.
You can store it for 12 months but for the best quality the say to use it by 6 months xx

Well done! Expressing colostrum and learning how to hand express is so important, not only for collocting the drops but also for breast stimulation that signal the body to produce milk. Keep on -now -and in the first days after birth as well, between feeds, to help the set up of milk supply.

How much colostrum supply is there? Like roughly how many syringes do you think you will get and shouldn't you leave some for when the baby comes or do you want to give it all to the baby via syringe? Sorry probably stupid questions.

dont worry, you cant empty your breast from colostrum before birth. Anyhow you will have enough colostrum after birth:) and its better to directly feed the baby on the breast when possible.

no idea how much supply there is but I know your milk doesn’t come in until you’ve actually given birth and that will take a couple of days. I’m storing in case I decide breastfeeding isn’t for me so at least I have a good amount of colostrum if he has a cold or that x
