Normally it dosnt cover you for this. I worked in a dentist previously. It's because dental hygienist is a private appointment. I've not been able to have this appointment through the nhs x

I go to an NHS dentist and have visited the hygienist twice for free - once when I was 33 weeks pregnant and once when she was 6 months old x

My dentist appointment was covered but I had to pay for the hygienist x
