Today my 9mo woke from her nap and my husband went to get her whilst I was downstairs with my son, MIL and FIL. Once she came down she saw me and my son and started to smile at us and wanting to come to us. I said to my husband, do you want to give her here looks like she wants to come play. Instead, he hesitated and gave her to his MIL??? He heard me, acknowledged me yet did not give her to me.

Mmmmm yeah I would feel weird about that, perhaps ask him why he did that (so you can better understand)

It would annoy me too! I feel that when MILs and general in laws are around partners go out of their way to make them happy regardless of babies needs.

Oh no, that does sound frustrating! It's understandable that you would feel annoyed in that situation. Maybe your husband didn't realize how much you wanted to play with your little one or maybe he had a different reason for giving her to his mom. It might be helpful to have a calm conversation with him and express how you felt in that moment. Communication is key, and hopefully, you can find a solution that works. Hang in there! š

yes, this! My in laws came round Friday late afternoon and my LO had just fallen asleep as they arrived (I did say the time would coincide with nap time). She was still asleep when my partner came home from work and he said āoh just wake her upā⦠he would never normally say that and it did annoy me. Needless to say, I did not wake her up!!

No bc they are visiting. Also, you have the other baby w you so it's normal for him to hand the baby to his mom and dad.

I wouldnāt be bothered. Family are visiting and babies smile at everything
not visitingā¦they live with us.
not visiting, they live with us!

I would be annoyed in that situation tbh. I would have to say something quietly after and explain cos I wouldn't want him to do it again. Your feelings are valid, and if it made you feel annoyed or like it was wrong, then he needs to hear it.
Thank you all. Knew I wasnāt being irrational about it! Itās really been bugging me.

I would be annoyed luckily my partner knows not to play that with me I told him straight up I donāt even want them to hold my baby. Iām sure they will at some point but he knows better than to hand my own baby to my in laws if Iām clearly asking for my baby
