So I’m almost 14 weeks. We had been TTC for almost 3 years and it was such a draining time thinking it was never going to happen but thankfully it did and we’re now into the 2nd trimester already. I thought I’d really enjoy being pregnant and feel like I need to act so positive and happy because it’s something I’ve wanted for so long… I feel the opposite, I’m so emotional. Getting so annoyed at the littlest things anyone does or say and it just feels so lonely even though I have great support all around me. Don’t get me wrong, I am soo excited but I just didn’t expect to feel like this. Can anyone else relate? 😩

Well you wanted a baby, not the pregnancy that comes with bad symptoms and hormones all over, so just try to think of the outcome and that you’re closer to 40 weeks every week. Pregnancy sucks, especially the first trimester, my only hope we start feeling better in the second trimester, closer to 20 weeks! Hang in there and be gentle on yourself

I’m exactly the same. I’m either snappy then cry coz I’m snappy then cry some more coz I’m scared I’m hurting baba, hormones and emotions are all over the shop xx

We had been trying for 3 years also and had 2x failed rounds IVF before this surprise natural conception. I too thought I’d feel done when I was pregnant but I am so anxious and I can’t see this ever working out. I can’t get excited. I just try to mentally tick off each week and I go for weekly (trying to move to 2 weekly) private scans and I find that makes me a little better.
I’m glad people are also feeling similar (well not glad, but feels nice that people can relate to the way I’m feeling). It’s a tough time and don’t think anyone else will understand it unless they are going through it 😢 I 100000% know it will all be worth it x

I’m a midwife (hence the worrying because I know far too much for my own good) but I would say if you are struggling definitely speak to your midwife, I’m going to mention that I’m struggling when I see her in 2 weeks xx
