My 11 month has never been great with food. But recently he just has meltdowns during literally every meal time and barely eats anything. He doesn't want to eat and will just cry and throw food. I'm at a loss with how to help him. I don't feel able to go anywhere during meal times because I just get so stressed with it now.
I've tried changing feed times incase it's because he is over/under hungry? Different textures of food, but nothing works.
Our food bin has never been so full on a weekly basis. Feels like everything goes in the bin.
He has struggled with gaining weight since birth and finally got to ahealthy weight wifh formual feeds. But now he is going to be 1 next month so we've been trying to get into the 3 meals a day/snacks and reduced bottle feeds but I'm worried he isn't getting enough with solid foods due to the meltdowns!
Has anyone else been through this/going through this? Any advice appreciated.

Hi. Yes, mine does but I realised it was due to multiple teeth coming through at once and it hurt him to eat. I hadn't him baby neurofen and soft purées. Sometimes hot and sometimes cold

Have you tried taking him out of the high chair and making things more casual. More messy but my baby will often be calmer and eat more if he’s on my lap/on the floor/crawling around mashing biscuit in to my carpet?

We went through a phase where he refused to eat due to teething as it was hurting too much and a second phase where he didn't want his highchair so I sat him on the sofa to eat or when he learnt to stand he refused to sit anywhere to eat so I had to feed him stood up which I know if not ideal but for that phase I did thicker purees so he couldn't choke on anything. I find the best place now is we sit on the sofa and share a meal together and he will eat it all in just make sure I have a towel handy if things get messy
He does have several teeth coming through. But I feel like even when he isn't teething he is difficult to feed.
I feed him in high chair, bumbo, on matt on flour in lounge, with bib, without bib.
He does better with purees as I can spoon feed him.
If its finger foods he tend to put it in his mouth then hold it in his cheek then cry when his mouth gets full🙈.
I just feel so deflated now. He eats slightly better at nursery.
I do think I need to switch his food up a bit. Maybe he is getting bored of the food.
