I’m 3.5 weeks in and I’m in excruciating pain - can anybody recommend anything for pain relief I might have missed?(Nipple shields and Lanolin are useless).
It’s my second child,I had something similar with my first but it didn’t go on this long.Breastfeeding team have already been over and the latch is absolutely fine,so it’s just a case of “sticking it out”.
I know it sounds dramatic, but I’m nearly being physically sick with the pain each time I feed - I gave birth without any painkillers so I don’t think it’s that I’m somebody who usually experiences pain badly!!

So sorry to hear this 😢 I’m also 3 weeks pp and frequently having latch issues / pain. Silverette nipple shields are amazing for me. The expert midwife nipple cream helped loads, also after feeding expressing a bit of milk and rubbing it on the nipple.
I had an issue the first week where my nipple got blisters and also bled, ripped open new skin. So in that time I pumped, however baby now has nipple confusion so wasn’t the best route for us
Hope it gets better xx

Have you tried the silver nipple cups? They were an absolutely life saver for me. I wore them all the time in the day between feeds with a bit of breast milk in them! On the expensive side but worth every penny.
I also used the milk collection shells which meant the pressure was completely taken off the nipple for a while, mainly used them in the morning. I remember the pain very clearly, I think it settled down around 4 weeks but can't quite remember!
I haven’t heard of these,I’ll check them out :) thank you x

Have you had baby checked for a tongue tie? I was told at the hospital that my baby did have a tongue tie but latch was fine so it was nothing to worry about. Got home and was getting increasingly sore. Went private to see about baby's tongue tie and the consultant couldn't believe they'd palmed me off as it was a significant tongue tie. Once baby had tongue tie sorted, feeding became pain free. I went to this lady: https://www.babytobreast.com/ she gave brilliant advise about feeding.

You’re not being dramatic! It’s awful at first 😩 I’m guessing you’ve already tried a few diff nipple creams but lanolin (purple tube) ended up working best for me. Also these: https://amzn.eu/d/9EeLTkN sold in boots too I think. They just give some soothing release I used to put them in the fridge xx

Does this nipple bomb that you can put on your nipples Amazon do it then it’s really really good I’ll send you a picture but just keep going because I know it sucks. I had a crack my nipple because of this but if you keep going it should get better Your body is just getting used to having someone sucking on your nipple all the time xx

absolutely this! For months they told me the latch was fine and everything was swell, I had mastitis 3 times and was screaming from the pain. Went to babytobreast and got it sorted in 10 Min. Just wish I had done it earlier 😞
