So my son is still in a cot at the moment and I'm not going to change him to a toddler bed yet as he is still content in his cot.
His cot can change into a toddler bed however we do have a guest bed with a new single mattress in his room which we are getting rid of. I had an idea of maybe getting a floor bed frame and putting the single mattress in it and using that as his bed. It's an adult size mattress so it would last him longer.
I was just wondering if anyone else had a floor bed and if they are any good or not or should I stick to a normal toddler bed.

Yep we switched our son at like 16 months. He loved it. And now for his second birthday we put him in a twin bed

we took the sides off the cot but he still looked cramped as he is so tall so we brought him a second hand single bed frame and a new mattress and sold the cot

My little boy has always disliked his cot so we ended up cosleeping in my bed. He takes up so much space as would sleep like a starfish so we ended up getting a double floor bed and moved him to his room. We did this around 16 months and its been great! I dont have a fear that hes gonna fall out, as he did fall out of a normal bed a few times in his sleep as he flaps around so much.
A friend of mine bought a normal wooden single bed and chopped the legs off--much cheaper!

My boy loves his floor bed. It's a double so easier for us to do a story and cuddle in bed.
