Should I go to the ER?

I got the paragard IUD a year ago. Everything has been okay until now.
I’ve been having a lot of cramping pain. Maybe 7-8 out of 10.
It’s on the left side of my uterus, and kinda in the center too.

I had my period on the 5th, I’m not supposed to start again until the 31st. I already ovulated on the 16th.

I’ve been hurting for 4 days now (since the 19th). I’m worried it might be misplaced or maybe I’m even pregnant.

The women’s health clinic can’t see me for another 3 weeks. Advice???

You should go get checked, maybe ask for a pelvic ultrasound so they can try to locate the IUD. You could be pregnant or the device could be dislodged.

I’m currently 19 weeks pregnant and I got pregnant on the paragard. I started to have cramps a week before my period, so I decided to do a string check… didn’t find the strings, but found the IUD itself coming out of my cervix. My doctor ordered me an ultrasound, but didn’t believe I could be pregnant. I tested anyways and got a positive at 9 DPO. Long story short, because of the IUD, there is a higher risk of ectopic pregnancy and that is a serious matter. Unfortunately they are not able to locate the fetus this soon, but you would need to closely monitor until they are.

Thanks yall! I did wind up going to the ER. It was dislodged and pressing into the left side of my uterus. They were able to take it out!

I am supposed to be getting an iud at my 6 week appointment in 3 weeks and hearing this made me a little nervous lmaoo

I got mine at 6 weeks and it’s been great. Everyone is different so I’d definitely suggest trying it. Stuff like this does happen but it’s not very often that it does.

Even though I got pregnant on the IUD, I will definitely be getting it again. It worked great until it didn’t. But I’ll likely be pairing it with another form of birth control (condom/tracking).

Avatar

I didn’t mean to make you nervous! I’d still say this was the best birth control I’ve ever been on !

Avatar

do you know why it moved?

Avatar

I’m going to get it anyway. I was thinking about getting the non hormonal one

Nobody knows for sure, but they did find fibroids in my uterus. So that’s likely why.

Avatar

do you have to wait until after pregnancy to deal with the fibroids and how do you feel about being pregnant now since it wasn’t planned ?

Avatar

Apparently they are not big enough that I will need to get treatment for it.
And it was a big shock and I didn’t feel ready for it at all. But now I’m very happy and looking forward to meeting my first baby.

Avatar

Aw okay well I hope everything goes well with that. And congrats on being a first time mommy!! I was there and now I’m 2 under 2 that’s why I’m nervous about the iud moving lmaooo I do not need 3 under 3 😂😂

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
