Implant + combined pill

Hi, I was experiencing the same as you so was having the implant and the mini pill. I then ran out of mini pills and couldn’t get in to see the gp (can’t exactly remember why) so I messaged my friend who was a gp in training. She said it seemed fine to take the stock of combined pills that I already had and checked with her Mum who was also a gp and she said it seemed ok (whether she actually did or not I don’t know).

Then when I ran out of my stock of combined pills and went to my gp, he told me off. He said I shouldn’t have gone on pills without a doctors consent and said that in this case, having both the implant and combined pill dramatically increased the risk of having blood clots. Then I made the mistake of telling my mum what had happened and she told me off too!

Anyway, the doctor that told me off suggested that I consider having the implant removed, as I was going to start trying for another baby in a few months. Had it removed and stayed on combined pill for 4 months.

But then anyway, I think having had all different hormones messed my body up. I came off the pill to try to conceive but it took 4 months for my body to actually start ovulating. And then my pregnancy ended up in a missed miscarriage. Now pregnant again, I’m looking into the copper coil for after this one’s born.
