Solution is be quick. Sing songs. Make faces. Make weird noises. Give him a toy in the middle if it. Mine does it every time. Its a struggle cuz he always tries to get away. But im just used to it now. So good luck.
most babies don’t like it my fist daughter scream murder every time I change her when newborn …gets easier when they get older … don’t worry it’s normal
My baby doesn’t like the coldness of it, especially on the changing mat x
My girl is the same, she screams blue murder when I have to change her sleep suit too. I give her a pacifier, and my boyfriend holds a toy over her face to distract her and speaks to her When I can see her stirring I’ll sit on her changing mat so it’s not as cold, and quickly feed her after so she calms down quickly
It’s normal! Just try to distract him. Like Liz said, be quick. (We did cloth nappies, so we learned to fold & wrap him quick! 😂) Sing songs, make mouth noises, talk to him, etc. When he was about four months, I tossed a (clean) spit cloth on his face and started hollering, “OH NO! Where are you? What happened? Where did you go? OH! THERE YOU ARE!!” and that helped then.
If it’s the cold, maybe you could try putting down a towel on the changing mat and using a wipe warmer that will prevent the wipes being super cold for them.
My son did that but infact he had uti after having antibiotics hes been absolutely fine and never screamed when changing his nappy. Maybe get him checked by the doctor to be on safe side. If all clear then maybe distract him with a toy x
My little girl hated them the first month or two, a wipe warmer made a huge difference and I never thought they were practical before. After a couple of months she’s grew out of it. I always just changed her diaper before I feed her because the bottle would instantly calm her.
First they don't like the cold, then they learn how to roll and don't want to be still, then they learn how to stand and don't want to be on their back and it goes on until potty trained 😂 a kid that likes their diaper changed is a rarity!!
@Chrissy its so crazy because I really don’t remember this with my first child. This second child will not keep still for nothing.
@Liz I feel like we just get good at it and block it out how annoying they are 😂
My son was the same up until 2 months or so. Maybe it's because they get cold? He is now fine with nappy change but he still hates being dressed (almost 7 months)
My 16 month old cries during nappy changes, some babies just do 🤷🏻♀️
My son is the same, he sometimes still screams and he is 8 weeks. In the beginning I used to get distressed so would stop half way to cuddle him. But now I’m just quick!! You get used to the little cry as they tend to stop once it’s over!

Probably doesn’t like the cold wipes. You can buy wipe warmers on Amazon
Mine did this for the first 6 weeks or so. Screamed like he was being tortured. Some just do, my daughter never did. It’s intense but it does just pass and then one day you’ll suddenly realise oh he hasn’t done it for a while!
It gets better! We introduced dummy at 4 weeks just because the nappy time was so awful but fastforward another 2 weeks it was his favourite thing and now we are reliant on a dummy for other things 🙈
My daughter hated feeling the wipes because they were cold maybe try a wipe warmer
It’s totally normal, he’ll grow out of in a couple of months x
My boy used to scream and got better around the 4 week mark. Hes now 16 weeks and loves having his nappy changed 🤣🤣
My first boy did, my little girl didn't and my two weeks old boy is doing now. It's the cold. Last time I got given a wipe warmer with my little boy and it soon settled him and thinking about doing it again this time I know they are a fad but better than boobs aching Everytime he screams when changing x
Mine did in the beginning bc it’s cold. Try covering them up from waist up with a small thin swaddle before completely undressing them and get a wipe warmer Footies that unzip from the foot up where you don’t have to take all there clothes off helps too or use gown at night
Some babies don't like their nappy changed. Mine cries everytime
