Diaper buying/stocking up

What size diaper is best to buy before baby comes to be most prepared? Or would you recommend buying multiple sizes? I did not have a gender reveal to do a diaper raffle and i’m going to discourage the gifting of diapers at my baby shower. I’d prefer guests bring something more personal/sentimental; such as books, an outfit, toys, etc. I plan on buying the diapers myself as we go but I do want to have a decent amount in stock to begin with.

I wish I did a gender reveal to do the diaper raffle but I don’t want to do it at the shower just because i’m already planning on traveling states to have my shower. I’d rather have smaller things to fit in my car to travel back home with. My registry has kind of just been my personal checklist.
Thanks for the chart, definitely going to use it!

I wouldn’t get so many newborn size, just in case. My baby only fit in them for about 3 weeks and we had way more than we needed. I know some babies come out already too big for newborn size!

I was thinking a box of newborns and size 1, then stock up on sizes 2+. I have a feeling my girly is going to come out pretty big!

Isn’t it crazy?! Like I want to stock up but I have zero idea how big she’ll come out and how quickly she’ll grow. I want to have SOMETHING in her room & I’m not opposed to buying as I go but I just don’t like leaving my house lol

Mine was born small (under 7 lbs) so we had to go out and buy newborns, but she outgrew them in a couple of weeks. We used size 1 for about a month after that, had 2 boxes plus a small pack of some organic brand gifted, and we have about 2 sleeves left. Have bought 5 boxes of size 2 so far, have about a box and a half left and getting ready to size up to 3. She is 13.2 lbs.

yeah I completely get that. Haha 😂 that's why I love online shopping, saves going out plus you can often find better deals and do subscribe and Save 😂

Yeah, I feel like i’ll use more size 2 and up as opposed to newborn and size 1. The general consensus seems to be that they grow out of newborns within a month.

I definitely used a lot more size 2. We're just over 4 months and still using them.

Get 1 pack of size zero one pack of size 1 to start

The newborn size diapers the hospital gave us were enough for us because they got tight pretty quick so I’d say size 1 is going to be something you want to stock up on. Just keep in mind, that some babies are sensitive to some brands. Also, you never know how fast baby is going to grow. Our little one went up to size 2 by 2.5 months old and is now in size 3 since she reached 4 months old. We have a lot of leftover diapers that are newborn size and size 1. We’ll keep them for the next baby. But just maybe keep the boxes closed and the receipts handy in case you need to return.

If you go with cloth diapers you don’t really need different sizes. Message me if you’re curious about it!

Should I be concerned or am I overthinking?

My little boy is 15 months old, he’s recently taken his first steps and he says mamma and dadda and baba (he has said these for months) we’ve filled out the paperwork for his 12-14 month review and it looks like he isn’t meeting many of his milestones.

He doesn’t copy actions, point, clap etc. He doesn’t react when being spoken to, or to his name. He actively avoids eye contact.

He was so unresponsive to sound that we just had his hearing tested concerned he was deaf. They found that he could hear so he is just choosing not to react to any noises or sounds.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with their little ones? Should I be raising this with the health visitor and ask to be assessed for neurodivergent issue or a social communication problem like autism?

I don’t want to just slap a label on him, but I do feel that there are real concerns. All opinions welcome!!

Routines?

When did you start to introduce your baby’s routine? Do they just have a night routine or full day routine? Wondering when I should start this e.g naps at the same time everyday.

Any routines you have that work for you, please let me know them with timestamps. my baby is 6 weeks and just wondering when we should start them?

Does anyone else’s baby spit up breastmilk but not formula?

I’m seriously considering seeing a lactation consultant because I don’t understand why he can’t hold down breastmilk but can formula. I use soy formula since I’ve used it with my daughter and I’m thinking it might be due to not getting milk coming in for a few days so I had no choice but to give him formula, but now even if I take breaks in between feeding him breastmilk to burp or try to mix breastmilk and formula, he spits it up sooo much. I’m ready to just give him just formula because I’m worried about him not eating enough

Bed time tips for 8 week old

So I literally cannot get my 8 week down to sleep before 11:30pm every night no matter how early we start our routine. We tend to do bath every second night but every night consists of feed, up to bed, into pjs, book, feed to sleep. We could start this routine at 7 and it would still be the case of not selling til 11:30.

She doesn’t nap during the day well, we get a 30 minute in the morning, and a 1 hour in the afternoon only if I’m out the house. She’s never distressed when she’s awake all that time, quite the thing being nosey and having cuddles. She’s EBF and her feeds all through the day are LONG and last from 30-45 mins each feed.

Any tips/advice recommended on how to get to bed earlier or just how to get her to sleep in general.
