Medela or Elvie

I’m looking to buy a breast pump and I’m considering a medela hands free or an Elvie pump.

My concerns with the wearable (Elvie pump) according to the research I’ve done is that it’s not as powerful and you may not get as much milk out as a wired pump. Also it’s only largely beneficial if you are still breastfeeding or have another primary pump to use alongside.

My concerns with the medela hands free is that whilst it seems very convenient with fewer parts to clean and lightweight.. are the wires not annoying ? What about the battery pack you have to carry Around?

I’ve never pumped before so has anyone had experience with these pumps? Ideally I’d like to continue doing things around the house whilst pumping but if you have to remain relatively still with both I’d choose the medela. Please help.

I've only used the Medela pump and whilst the hands free one was more convenient, I preferred the wired version.

I have the Electric Solo Breast Pump and similar to the Elvie reviews you've seen, I wasn't getting as much milk out. I found it a little uncomfortable at times and had to hold it in place to get a better suction (which defeats the whole point) and the nursing bra wasn't much help either 😫

I think the suction on the other version (battery pack) is supposed to be better though. Hope this helps! If you do decide to order from Medela then I used the code medela20 it might still work ☺️ x

I just ordered Elvie Stride - which is a hands free wired one (supposed to be hospital grade) so more powerful than the other one. Don’t know if you’ve looked at that as a potential option? I can’t comment on how well it works though as I won’t be able to try it until baby comes!

I’ve got the medela swing and Elvie original pump, I would 100% recommend the medela swing! Although not as convenient, it definitely gives way better output. We call it ‘super pump’ 🤣

thats annoying 😭 I was even considering the new solo too.. just don’t want to be tied down by the wires 😫.

Really appreciate the code. Hopefully it works if I do go with it.

I did consider but the medela hands free equivalent had less parts to wash and was more light weight hence why I was more steered towards that if I do go for one with tubes. Tbh it still looks good and they’re doing a sale right now. Do you have single or double?

it seems like convenience comes at a cost 😭do use both or just the swing now then? And with a pump that has you tied down at what occasions would you use it?

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
