Your breast never fully empties, this is something I had to learn! The flow just slows to a point that they'll come off the breast themselves, at which point offer the other one. I find a nappy change in between breasts helps my LO want the second too xx

Milk production is like a river rather than a lake if that makes sense, whenever the breast is stimulated by baby sucking, pumping or hand expressing it will trigger more milk. Baby doesn’t need to drain your boob fully x

Swap boobs. Have baby on one side and when they delatch movement onto the other one. Means both boobs are equally used

How do you know they’ve got the hind milk/ fatty??

There is no such thing as “foremilk” and “hindmilk” in the sense that they are not different kinds of milk. The terms simply describe the way that fat content of milk increases as the breast is drained. “Foremilk” is defined as the milk available initially when a baby starts feeding, “hindmilk” as the milk that can be expressed at the end of a feed.  “Foremilk” is not necessarily “low” in fat, as it it depends on how much time has passed since the previous feed.
