Freaking out about baby’s size 😭

Will try and keep this short!
Baby had always measured slightly below 50th centile for their weight but had longer than average legs (we expected this as both me and my partner are tall). At 34 weeks their AC measured large. GD was ruled out, I had a follow up scan at 37 weeks and the whole of baby’s size had shot up to the 97th centile and was already estimated 7lbs15 😳
However, baby was also breech at this point. Doctors said I would have to be induced no later than 39 weeks due to baby’s position and because they’re measuring big. Baby did turn back on their own so I was sent home, and a different consultant scanned me briefly and said baby looks a clinically average size so there was nothing mentioned about further growth scans. I’m now 39+1, my midwife measured my bump and their size has supposedly dropped to 70th centile. I guess I’m panicking because the consultants said I would need to be induced at this point due to baby being big, and I’m worried that by my due date it could be around 10lbs or something 🙈 (not that there’s anything wrong with that) but the consultants have scared me into thinking I won’t be able to birth this baby naturally and have made out like it’s the size of an elephant 😂😂 has anyone been in a similar position or have any advice?

Trust in your body to grow a baby you can birth! Scans are notoriously inaccurate so don’t read too much into it, just trust in yourself and your baby ♥️

My family are full of big babies from 11.11oz to 14lb and the biggest mum was tiny and size 8 and she gave birth no problem! It makes me dubious that my baby is measuring “small” so I’m holding out for potentially a bigger baby than they’re thinking. You want to give 15- 20% leeway both ways for scan measurements. So if your baby is estimated at 8lb that could be anywhere between 6.8 and 9.2! Xx

that’s reassuring to hear thank you! Baby was estimated 8lbs at 37 weeks which is why I’m worried about what size they’ll be if I last to 40, which is looking likely as it stands! After some of the consultants comments it has just made me paranoid and they made me feel ashamed like I’d done something wrong! And it’s my first baby so already feeling anxious enough about birth 😂 xx

My baby had a growth scan at 33 weeks with a HC and AC of >99th centile and a predicted birth weight at 97th centile so 10lb (I'm tiny so this was scary!). At the 37 week scan they measured HC and AC as 97th centile and weight at 86th. I had him on Saturday and he's only 7lb 8oz at 2 weeks early so he wouldn't have been enormous! These are estimates so have faith 😊

A 70th centile baby at 40 weeks will only be about 8.3lbs so it's not going to be massive. This website is really helpful https://timms.le.ac.uk/birth-weight-centiles/individuals-calculator.html

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
