I don’t even know if it’s weird or stupid posting this here and I’m worried about posting with my name so I hid it, but I feel so alone and I’m really scared it’s just going to get worse after I give birth. Just over a year ago I moved in with my partner which is hundreds of miles from where I used to live and it was the best choice considering my life at the time and he already had children so it made sense for me to move. I’ve made work friends but anything outside of work never seems to materialise and I’m starting to feel a little embarrassed to keep asking to meet up outside of work when people are obviously too busy/ don’t want to. Also lots of people there already have established friendships or they’re mum friends because their children have grown up together so the dynamic isn’t something I fit into. My partner has been absolutely wonderful and I’ve spoken to him about this more than once and he’s really supportive and keeps trying to make me feel better by saying after having the baby I’ll meet mums at like classes and things and won’t feel so alone anymore, but I’m not too sure. I got this app and it’s helped a little just having people to just chat to about just normal things, especially being pregnant for the first time but I’m really worried it’s going to keep getting worse and maybe even increase chances of postnatal depression. I don’t know, I’m just scared and I don’t know if this is a normal feeling or I’m just overreacting.
