So I have just broke up with my partner, I have an 11 month old baby, not currently working and don’t have family I can live with. I was in hostels when I was pregnant and don’t want to end up in there with my baby as I know the states of them and the types of other people who are in them. What can I do to avoid going in one?

How old are you? And are you on universal credit for being unemployed?
It depends on your circumstances, but if you can find accommodation (and have a rental agreement) universal credit should pay your rent plus average living expenses for the area that you live in until your baby is 2 and your considered ‘ready’ to go back to work.
It does depend on your circumstances, age and whether your in higher education etc. but just speaking from my situation (single mum of 15 month old living in London), it’s worth looking up if you haven’t already. Hope that helps 😊

Depends which part of Manchester you are from but if you present as homeless at your local council or call them depending on which one it is, they should give you help as you're with a small child, they might be able to get you emergency accommodation x
