In need of reassurance 😭

I'm currently 9 w 2d with my little rainbow baby. I had my first ultrasound at 7w3d and everything looked great. Since I am starting to show already, we knew we would not be able to keep it a secret for very long and my husband was very insistent on announcing to his family yesterday during Easter dinner. It went very well and everyone is excited. However, I woke up this morning with a bit of bleeding and have had cramping throughout the day. I am so nervous about losing this one too, especially because we had just told everyone 😞😞

Have you tried contacting your doctor? I’ve had two previous miscarriages and am pregnant with our rainbow baby. I found out after my ultrasound at 9 weeks that I have a subchorionic hemorrhage so my midwife told me to be prepared to have cramping and bleeding. So that could be a reason but no way to know without seeing your doctor. My friend just had her baby yesterday and she had bleeding and cramping throughout majority of her pregnancy even though her doctor found no complications. I know it’s scary mama. Here if you need to talk 🤍

Stay strong! Every expecting mom is terrified of losing their little one especially after having many miscarriages. Bleeding and cramping can be normal (I’m 11 weeks and it happened to me from 6-9 weeks) but definitely let your OB know. Plus scheduling an ultrasound can always make you feel better and reassured.

@Hunter I did contact my doctor office this morning and was told unless it is extremely heavy bleeding, I'm fine to wait until my next appointment on the 19th but if I get too worried, to go to the ER. I've heard a lot of people talk about bleeding being normal, I think it's just the previous loss that has me worried. I'm trying not to stress and I hate that I have to go two weeks without any answers..

I went to the ER because I didn’t think it was at all normal. They wouldn’t let me have an ultrasound until I was 8 weeks so I had to get reassurance. Do what makes you feel better.

@Hunter The only reason I'm not going to the ER is because when I was misscarrying my last one, I was told there was nothing they could do other than bloodwork. Was told that if I didn't pass everything within a couple weeks, to just follow up with my OB 🙄 I have lost so much faith in the Healthcare system where I live

is there an elective ultrasound clinic near you? I’m super paranoid so I’ve scheduled a few visits with one here so I can keep an eye on my little one as my midwife won’t do another scan until 20 weeks - unless they feel necessary for some reason. It’s not feasible for everyone but we’ve budgeted to go about every two weeks for our peace of mind 🤍 they obviously can’t tell you anything diagnostic, but it can allow you to see that everything is okay with baby

yeah when I went for my miscarriage, the ER tried telling me I was still pregnant even though I told 3 nurses I saw that I was supposed to be 10 weeks then when the doctor reviewed my ultrasound I was 6 weeks with no heartbeat. They tried to tell me it was normal to not have a heartbeat because I was so early and my hcg was on par with 6 weeks. I told them yet again I’d already had comfirmation ultrasound previously at 5 weeks and should be 10 at that point. I have little faith in the healthcare system too. I’m going to a birthing center this time and the care has been significantly better. But for my peace of mind, I like to see baby every couple weeks.

@Hunter I'm going to talk to my husband tomorrow about going to one. The closest one to me is about an hour and a half away though which sucks.

I am pregnant with my rainbow baby also . I'm 13w today. I remember when I was 7 weeks I bleed when I wiped and I was terrified. I cried before I even called the doctor. My friends all tried to reinsure me. I called doctor was not concerned at all . He said as long as it's not heavy you will have some spotting and cramping around the first trimester time. Being pregnant after a loss is terrifying. You are anxious about everything. I could say for me the further I went along and was able to see my baby fully developed it lowered at lot of ease. You got this momma.

@trice thank you so much ❤️ I'm starting to calm down a bit. With my first pregnancy, I had no symptoms, everything was absolutely perfect the whole time. I couldn't believe how easy and wonderful that pregnancy was, I never had the slightest concern and I now have a perfect little 2 year old boy. With losing the last two, I have become so anxious about every little thing and I hate it

yeah I get that. My first pregnancy was so easy. I feel this one maybe easy if I didn't have the anxiety. It's definitely hard but try to stay calm.

@Leah Hey girl I am 13 weeks 2 days with my rainbow baby and it has truly been an adventure I have had bleeding and clotting from the time I was 5 weeks pregnant but baby has been unaffected and has been doing well I got to see her kicking up a storm yesterday and moving around they said my issue was that my placenta was close to my cervix which has been causing the bleeding. I also have been informed that it might continue for at least another 2 weeks but as long as baby is healthy that's all that matters! So I am with you on how you feel 100%

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
