Hey mamas. I’m just feeling so down and sad that my second born baby boy- who is 5 months now didn’t breast feed as long as I wanted. I only mix fed him since he was born formula and breast until 3 months. I feel so bad because I exclusively breastfed my daughter for 2 and a half years and she’s 3 now. She never had a drop of formula. And I feel so attached to her whereas I don’t feel as attached to my boy. Ofc I love him to death but I didn’t get that bond with him. I’ve tried so hard to keep him on breast for the last 2 months and he’s so unhappy so I just had to resort to bottle (formula). The guilt is hard because my I had such a great journey with my girl for 2 years.

What do you mean he’s so unhappy? Have you worked with a lactation consultant?

I had a very disappointing breastfeeding journey with my second. There were so many bumps in the road I had to switch completely to formula. Our bond wasn't as strong, but I feel like that had more to do with him being a second child instead of an only child. I spent so much one on one time with my oldest that I didn't get to with my second simply because I have two kids to take care of now.
totally relate to this xxx
we did and it was still so difficult.

I know with being bottle fed, some babies do better with a nipple shield for breastfeeding. Also when using bottles use the slowest flow nipple and pace feed so they aren't frustrated at the breast
