Hi y’all. My baby is 5 months old and I’m considering getting started on birth control again (originally after my c-section I didn’t want to take any due to prior experiences taking the pill: my libido tanks, and I deal with awful hormonal acne when I first start it and when I go off of it). But the truth is, I’m scared of getting pregnant again so soon if my husband and me continue using just the pull out method only. I am enjoying sex again and this wasn’t happening when I was on the pill. I have never tried any other birth control. Is there a birth control method that doesn’t affect your libido so much and that also helps with acne? I currently have acne

I also had an awful experience on the pill. I have the implant and it’s been great!

I had the iud put in at around 3 months I believe and it wasn’t that bad honestly but I do have a high pain tolerance. I only had it in for about a month and a half because my body rejected it and I had a 38 day period which threw my hormones off the chart and almost completely stopped my milk supply. I’m still currently trying to get my supply back and it has been a struggle! I’m not trying to scare you or anything, this is just my personal experience and it is definitely different for everyone else. I haven’t considered any other form of birth control because of the issues I had with my milk supply and hormones but I definitely need to!

how long have you had the implant in? I had it about 3 years ago for about 2 years and I had horrible weight gain and depression. It seems like birth control isn’t for me but I’ve been thinking about getting recently. Sorry I know this isn’t my post lol but I don’t have anyone else to ask

I got it in March. No weight gain, dip in milk supply or mood swings. Best decision. I wish I would’ve had it put in sooner.

I have the depo shot, so far no big changes or acne, but the pill didn't give me those side effects, just made me nauseous 24/7, and so far not once with the shot, bonus I only have to remember to get it every 3 months and not daily, and if you don't like it you just don't get the next one.

I had an IUD for 7 years before I got pregnant lol. No symptoms at all and you can get a copper one that doesn’t have hormones and you still won’t get pregnant lol. The insertion does suck, they have to dilate your cervix to get it in but once it’s done it’s like you have normal period cramps. I had an IUD with hormones (the mirena) and I rarely even got a period. Maybe like 4 times a year maximum. I loved it. And when they took it out it was just a. Quick pinch and didn’t hurt much.

IUD or low does estrogen pill like the mini pill

I went with the copper IUD. Not great if you want to eventually have no period, but I didn't want any outside hormones and the crap that comes with them on top of the PP mess I already got going rn. My period is heavier, which is the main side effect, but that was already happening PP anyways. Been great so far.
