Experience on early labour?

Been in early labour since Monday, contractions but not progression.

Any others who can relate or been through similar share their experience?
I’m feeling really deflated and exhausted and it’s effecting me mentally. I wanna cry.

I’ve been the same since Wednesday night. It’s so frustrating! My contractions just aren’t ramping up but they’re still pretty painful.

Have you checked if you’re dilated?

I went into hospital and they said I was 2cm dilated and offered to break my waters which I declined x

I have been so nervous to just ring triage and asked to be looked at!! But I've been in early labour since 28th march now!! Just want it over with x

Avatar

aw I know what you mean. They’re usually pretty nice though & they might offer you some painkillers! X

That being said, going into hospital has definitely slowed the labour down even more for me..

@Emily they gave me stronger painer killers to bring home on the 28th cos of tje contractions but my cervix wasn't soft or anything. Then had a sweep on the 2nd. But again cervix wasn't soft so just had a cervix massage, since then I've had period type cramps that have become more constant over last couple days!!

hang in there & best of luck. It will happen x

do you ring triage or your midwife for that? I am always unsure who I am meant to contact.

And did you explain the situation and request to be seen to see how dilated you were?

Avatar

How often/regular are your contractions?

Avatar

during the day they are every 15-25 minutes and at night 10-15 minutes. Some are like period cramps so are really uncomfortable and make me feel light headed and sick

Avatar

Unfortunately they aren't frequent enough to be admitted. Have you taken any pain relief? We usually say to go to the hospital when you're having at least 3 every 10 minutes for at least 1-2 hours consistently. You could call triage anyway if you want? You may be able to get some paracetamol/dihydrocodeine

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Baby names

My daughter‘s name is valentýna and I’m struggling to find other nice girl and boy names beginning with V I’ve got a few and I’ve got loads that aren’t beginning with V, but I feel like I wanna go for all vs and I also love girl and boys names that match so because my daughter’s name is valentýna I would love to call my son Valentino my husband does not agree 😃

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!
