How did y’all fill in your history gaps on your resume for Motherhood? I’m so anxious because I just don’t know what to say but I’m ready to work again.

Just put that you were a homemaker! That is what our position technically is for tax purposes, and is not viewed by most employers as a negative job history. :)

what do you mean for tax purposes mama? I never thought of saying that so Thank you !

You were a homemaker.

Not the answer most people will agree with, but I would fluff the shit out of it and even lie a little bit.
Highlight any achievements or volunteer work you did during that time, and also see if any former work colleagues may be willing to “vouch” for any part time tasks you did to assist them with during that time.

You don’t have to put anything! A gap in your resume isn’t as bad as people make it seem. A great employer doesn’t care about gaps. Good luck with your job search!

Many people dont see this side of being a SHAM but.... What did you do as a homemaker? Did you clean? Babysat your child or children? Did you cook? All those could easily be used as a job description. You stayed at home to them all and even if they dont seem like a job they certainly are for others... Some pay for child care or nanies... Other for someone to clean their homes... bunch of others pay for someone else to cook for them... This are all different positions that were filled by none other than YOU... Am sorry for those that do not see it this way... I have a job... I am a SHAM the difference between lots of people is that I dont have a commute... I do my job with love for those that I love... 🙏🏼🥰

Same! Mostly bc I'm unsure of what to put on my resume for the gap and I was hoping to work from home but my daughter has been overwhelmingly attached to me lately 😩

omg I wanna work from home too because I jus don’t have the energy to work outside the home rn honestly
