Woke up in labour this morning. Let myself rest in bed to store up energy, just properly got up and moving about an hour ago and everything’s stopped 😣 how can I get it back going again??

This happened to me. My contractions were 5-6 mins apart from 5am. When I got up to shower and eat at 6am, they started to slow down and become further apart like 7-14 mins. To keep them going I tried nipple stimulation (seemed to really help) and anything to raise oxytocin like cuddles with my daughter and watching something funny on TV as i knew stressing that they had slowed down would put me further away from labour. When they got back to 5-7 mins I went in to get checked if I was in labour. I believe the midwife checking put my labour in to full force as my contractions ramped up within 30 mins and I was pushing 2hrs later.

I started having contractions at about 5am tried to get some sleep for a few hours woke up maybe 10 no contractions so went out for the day, contractions started getting intense in the afternoon and went to the hospital in the evening to find myself 4cm dilated! The being up and walking around probably helped xx
Thanks girls. I have family coming around so nipple stimulation may not be possible 😝 I’ll try and keep up and moving xx

I had this for a few days before finally being in labour properly. Keep as mobile as you can but also do things to relax or that you enjoy as you need the oxytocin to start things properly
I’m now having constant pressure and discomfort in pelvis, lower back, stomach.. contractions seemingly infrequent but in a lot of discomfort 😣
