It looks okay! I have heard to make it safer you can bungee cord under the crib to connect it to the mattress
We have the exact set up with the dip in the middle. I just lay her sideways with her knees/feet on the dip part and I just lay next to her with half my body on her crib and have on the bed when I have to feed her. And I can switch sides by laying on the left or right of her. It has been working out for us.
Hi @Zoe - I’m actually looking to get a sidecar like this. Do you mind me asking what brand this is / where you got it from? Thanks!
I honestly would bring baby into the bed with me (I know it’s not recommended) and lay down on my side and breastfeed. Did this with both my kids and it helped me cause I wouldn’t lose too much sleep with night feeds.
@Amanda i bought a crib that is capable of converting into a “toddler day bed” so it looks like a 3 sided crib like this- maybe that’s what Zoe did too :)
@Claire we have secured it with cable ties
@S aw why didn’t I think of that. Genius! Although my LO likes to have his arms straight out so no doubt I’d end up with my head pushed into the bars 😂🙈
@Amanda so it’s just ikea. I can’t remember the name of it but just the basic one. My partner took the side off and added a piece of wood under the overlap to make it more secure. I didn’t see people say you have to do that but we we felt it made it far more secure than part of the mattress having nothing underneath. I’ll take a pic to show you what I mean when I don’t have a baby sleeping on me 😂
@𝓛𝓮𝓷𝓪 ✨ we have been cosleeping in bed pretty for 6 months. I do love it (sometimes) but we want to try this in the hopes of getting dad back in the bed but might be it doesn’t work and we have to switch back
@Claire no we just followed the advice on happycosleep to convert an ordinary cot
@Someone’s Mom thank you x
