Hello ladies!
My baby is 6 weeks on Friday and has got really fussy out of no where the past 2 days and is spitting up more of her milk.
She has hiccups, coughs a lot, I can almost hear her milk coming back up then she’s swallowing it back down and isn’t projectile vomiting but is spitting up after every feed now and bigger amounts - she has barely done this up till now. She seems uncomfortable, like squirming and yesterday cried almost all day which is so unlike her.
What could this be?? can they develop reflux in a short space of time, could it be colic? any recommendations of what to do, I was going to give the health visitor a call.

Sounds like it could be reflux, my little girl was the same, fine up until around 5 weeks then had the symptoms your baby is having. If you read on the NHS website about reflux it does say babies can develop it any time before 8 weeks. I went to the GP on Monday and was prescribed Gaviscon for her and all her symptoms have improved and she’s a much happier baby now! Still a little sicky sometimes but nowhere near as much and I can actually put her down for short periods of time now without her crying. I’d say ring the GP if it continues.
thanks so much, really helpful and that’s good to hear your baby was much better after the gaviscon! she seems to be the same today so will give the GP a call, thank you x

Sounds like silent reflux I’m my first was on omperazole which helped 👍🏼 I’d speak to gp xx
