How much sleep is your little one getting during the day? X
Around 2 hours to 2.5 and around 11-12 at night

Likely under tiredness but sone of it can just be developmental or teething too. You could try keeping them awake slightly longer during the day. Are they on one or two naps?
Two naps, last wake window 3.5 hours but I could try stretching to 4

How old is your baby? If he or she is 12 months maybe consider dropping a nap and having one around midday ish x

We usually do 3/4/5 or 5 and then 5.5 if doing one nap

Hi lovely, I’m a Sleep Therapist and thought I’d just jump on quickly to reassure you and offer some practical tips. This is really normal and we see it quite often.
It’s all to do with the homeostatic sleep drive and sleep pressure.
In the second half of the night, sleep hormones are fading, sleep pressure is wearing off, and sleep is lighter, meaning little ones are more prone to environmental disturbances. (If they sleep apart from you they have also had a long stretch of separation already)
All this means vou can see -
- More frequent waking.
- Reluctance to go back into their sleep space alone.
- Harder to transfer.
- A heightened need for support to get back to sleep.

Some easy practical tips in the first instance
- White/pink/brown noise can help mask external noises and keep the environment even.
- Black out blinds can help keep out sneaky light which might exacerbate the issue (light influences sleep hormones)
- Check room temperature
- Take a look at their balance of day/night sleep - are they having too much sleep in the day?
- Could bedtime be a little early or even too late
Feel free to drop me a message if I can help in any way. I’m trying to offer free support on Peanut where possible to offset some of the wild sleep suggestions floating around on here!
thank you for this
