I was 30 weeks yesterday and people keep telling me to start thinking about my hospital bag. What are peoples thoughts/plans? Are people taking a mini case or just like a travel bag? I have a Katie Loxton overnight bag I could take - will that be plenty big enough?

this is like my Katie Loxton overnight bag. Could get a matching one for baby 🙊 My partner has just ordered some labelled zip lock bags - they’re amazing 😅👏🏼 How exciting - we’re due at the same time! X

Yes I’m due the 29th too!! 🥰🥰

A small travel bag will be more than enough. People say to take so much stuff and you don’t even use the half of it x

I just got a travel duffel bag for me and used the changing backpack for babies things and just got zip lock bags and labelled them still got plenty of room to add the last minute bits

I packed some essentials early but pretty much finalised it when contractions started while I waited for my ride to hospital lol 😂 don’t panic - there was a heat wave when I was going into labour and weather kept changing so I had to pack the right clothes on the day pretty much - also snacks and food - so all that is last minute. You can pack all of baby’s things ahead , and maybe do like pjs and maternity pads and little overnight shower type little bag , slippers or comfy flip flops and the rest I would wait till contractions start - it will take you 10-15 mins to throw together x

im due 28th 🥰

I havent got anything yet 🙈 feel like I need to get a move on!

that’s what I was thinking - pack simple things like some new slippers and pjs and then all babies things and then pack a little closer to the time when I start mat leave. Thank you for the advice. My partner and mum keep talking about snacks for them and I’m thinking you guys won’t be eating if I’m in pain 😅👏🏼

Where did you get the labelled zip bags from I’ve seen some on Etsy but not sure if they best ones? X

Thank you x

I have it almost ready and I am using a small cabin bag for me and a changing backpack for baby. I think is the most comfortable to carry them on wheels and have all more organised

I just used some storage crates because I am utilitarian and boring haha, but it means a can label them with ‘birth’, ‘baby’, ‘mum’ etc and the stuff is easy to find cos it’s just there in the box, don’t need to root around too much

I have a similar sized bag for me and a cabin case for baby x

I had loads of bags (I think a bag for before, bag for me after, bag for baby) last time and actually needed it because we were in the hospital for about 5 days but I’m going to try and stick to just one (or two) cases sorted by compartment or something this time

I’m hoping to have a home birth, haven’t thought about a hospital bag just in case.. 🙈 quite laid back approach 🤣 always last minute.com me

If you’re driving to hospital, I’d suggest getting it finalised and ready for both you & baby and leaving it in the boot at around 37/38 weeks so that if you do need to rush in, it’ll be ready for you to just grab x
