Stitches

I had an episiotomy with my daughter, and mine reopened and got infected. You will know if it is as its so painful and it does have mucus etc from the wound.
Mine did heal up eventually after about 2 months but mine was infected and it ripped quite bad!
I know it sounds silly but I used to pour cool boiled water there while I was having a wee each time to stop it stinging and also to clean it, and I would have baths with just water every evening.

same here, currently finishing my antibiotics but because it hasn’t closed im scared im going to get an infection as soon as im done. Ahh bless can feel your pain! This has been more painful than my whole labour and pregnancy put together. Was have hot sea salt baths and i think thats what made my stitches come undone. Did they have to re stitch you?

Mine have healed on their own after antibiotics and warm salt baths (episiotomy stitches).
They were infected and looked to have come apart a fair bit so I feared the worst when they said they wouldn’t restitch, but they’ve actually come back together and healed well externally! I still have a bit of discomfort sometimes (only 5 weeks pp) which I think may be internal healing, but will be asking more about this at my 6-8 week checkup with GP!

If you do feel you may have an infection and are worried, just pop to triage if you’re still covered by them or otherwise your GP - I didn’t think 5 days of antibiotics would do anything but it truly did, and gave me reassurance too

same here hun, just finished my antibiotics today and can finally say im feeling better but obviously long road ahead! Just pray it dont get infected again! What us women go through!! 😫 wish you well on ur check up. ♥️
