36weeks & 80% effaced question
I am 36w2d & I just got back from a ob appt & found out I am 80% effaced & 2cm dilated. I was not expecting that news since I have a scheduled cesarean planned on 5/13. There’s a good possibility I won’t make that date an have to go in early. I’m scared of this. But I’ve had diarrhea for almost a week, extreme fatigue, my face & feet are puffy & swollen, no contractions yet but the shooting leg pains & lower back pains are more present, I lost part of my mucus plug yesterday, & I’ve thrown up 2x today…
Does anyone have any advice or life experience on how soon labor comes once effaced 80%? I’ve had 2 other babies, so I know labor will come on fast once it starts

I was 1cm dilated and 80% effaced at my 36 week appt with my first baby. I had all the early labor symptoms but I had to end up getting induced at 41 weeks bc he was very comfy!! Hope this eases your mind a little. 😊
I found out I was 2cm dilated and 75% effaced at my 37week appointment last week. I went today and was 80% effaced and still 2cm dilated even though my nurse practitioner told me she didn’t think I’d make this appointment I had today.. and she said the same thing again this time. I posted a post like this last week, was very concerned and a lot of moms are 2cm dilated even 3cms and still make it to their due date or even pasted it! Or can be more effaced then what we are and make it to their due date! We’re all different. Id just keep an open mind and have your bags packed either way. Don’t freak out too much! Currently in the same boat as well and still haven’t gone in labor. It’s still a high chance you may make your due date. I hope this reassures you!
