My daughter turned three on April 17th.. we started potty training two weeks ago.. as soon as i take her off the toilet she’ll run under a table or a corner and piss herself or shit herself this is very frustrating.. any idea why? Or what I can do different I’m definitely frustrated.! She seems to think it’s a joke because she laughs at it too!😓

Maybe she’s not ready

Well unfortunately the daycare requires me to potty train her so I kind of have to😓

Mine turned 3 in feb and let me just say you aren’t alone☹️ we have tried everything so I’m forced to wait until he participates. I’m sorry though I know it’s hard with getting them into daycare😭

yes it’s like mandatory for her to be off the diaper🥲

Don’t do it now. She’s probably not ready and you definitely don’t want the problems that come with forcing

Maybe try offering “privacy”. door touching but not latched . and let her do it (pants/getting on and going potty/ and flushing all by herself and tell you when she’s done for you to “help”? I’m struggling atm with my son going in time (its kinda 50/50 rn if he makes it) before he gets his pants a teensy bit wet and not wanting to always listen to my “just try”. He regressed from always making it in time after being sick for 2+ weeks and getting out if the habit of feeling on top of it (as one does when you’re sick) but he always wants his privacy. At his school they take them to the restroom and stay by the door and give them their privacy. And help if they call for it. So maybe she needs the trust/autonomy to do it herself? (As much as a 3 year old can) just a thought :) but I agree, don’t force it.
I also let him know that he has to use the potty at school and that helped and kinda made it all finally happen where he wanted to be someone who uses the potty.

I’m interested in what problems can come with really pushing potty training? Can you elaborate please.

Train with the regular adult toilet and get a stepping stool. I would let me son choose from a goodie bag a little something everytime he used the bathroom correctly. Went to the dollar store and loaded up goodies. We went from diapers to boxers. Even at night. Never used diapers again and he was trained. Did not want to use pull ups.

Wow really!

What I did was let my daughter run around with zero bottoms on and set a timer every 30 minutes to go potty if she went I’d give her a treat and when she made messes on the floor I’d have her hand me a rag and she’d have a rag and pretend to clean up next to me while I cleaned up (she loves to be independent and “help” I did not force her and I never tried to punish her for accidents just teach her about consequence fitting for situations) she did have constipation issues from the time she was a baby so when it came to poop accidents I struggle a little more because she didn’t always know she thought it was just a fart and it was a shart but I tarted putting her in undies with a pad during those episodes since it was out of her control when I tried diapers while keeping the routine she ended up being too comfortable and reverting so I recommend pads in panties for times she can’t be bottomless

Thank you every single one of you for your support and advice! Just wanted to share we are officially completely off diapers/pull ups and on big girl undies!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉 she runs to the toilet and had only one accident on Saturday!🎉💕
