Hi all,
Not mum related, but ..
I teach in Canada but I am Australian, and I have a teacher colleague who is teaching their class the haka (teacher is not Māori, students are not Māori)
He also coaches the school rugby team, and has started getting his grade 8 girls to do the Haka before games.
I just wanted to reach out to people that know for sure, is this appropriate?
For context, in Canada, if non First Nation people were teaching traditional dancing and performing, it would not go over well.
So, if someone is 100% clear on this, I would love to hear feedback. If it’s inappropriate I do plan on addressing it with him, so I want to make sure im 100% informed correctly.

Personally I would be offended culturally disrespectful in my view because pronounced needs to be accurate
