Usually you have to do the number of INSET days equivalent to the number of days you work. So on 0.6 you should attend 0.6 of the INSET days. Depending on how they are scheduled this may involve occasionally attending an INSET day on a day that’s not your normal working day.
I've seen teachers in my school attend these Inset days at times but swap them for a day that they normally work.
I work Wednesday to Thursday and have to work 60% of inset days. These are usually agreed with the head teacher at the beginning of the school year. Last year I wasn’t paid for them but this year I was allowed to put a time sheet in for the Monday training day I worked. Hope this helps!
I get paid for mine if I attend!
If you're paid for 0.6, you're paid for 117 days per academic year. Anything above that needs to be paid overtime or time in lieu. They can request you attend or work on a non-working day but you are under no obligation, even if all inset days are on a non-working day - you could have another job or other commitments on those days.
I'm not part time, but for those who are in my school they don't have to attend inset days - sometimes they've been requested to attend specific training when it's on inset days (for extra pay obviously) but don't know if that's just how my school works or if it would be the same everywhere, might depend on the contract too I'd imagine x
