Does Okra water really help with baby coming right out once pushing? I keep seeing things about raspberry tea, okra water, dates and pineapples.

My confusion is that some people say that they did these things and went into labor the next day although these things don’t induce labor it just helps soften the cervix and make the baby slide out but it seems like a toss up cause some people start before 36 weeks and go into preterm labor and some people can drink it for weeks and then go into labor and it be perfect. I wanna do something when I hit 36 weeks but part of me is saying to not do anything and let my labor be my labor but what are yall planning to do?

Baby will come when baby is ready. These things only help soften your cervix. It’s pretty standard for women to go into labor 36-37 weeks nowadays so it’s most likely just coincidence.

I was thinking this same thing that it’s coincidental and that they could’ve had easy labors regardless because some women say they do all of those things and end up with the baby not coming out and having to get a c section

yeah it has nothing to do with it lol.

I asked my OB about the raspberry leaf tea and dates. She says there is no hard scientific evidence that they help, but she said they won't hurt! She says those are both diuretics, so they will help if I'm constipated. 🤷‍♀️ I'm trying them both as of 37 weeks.

that makes sense I guess it depends on the person lol some people swear by it but my hospital is an hour away so I’m nervous if I do take this stuff ima dilate too fast and won’t make it lol

There actually is very good evidence that red raspberry leaf tones the uterus which makes contractions more productive once you are in labor. Same as with dates, they help soften your cervix. None of these things make you go into labor, they just help your body to have a more productive labor once it actually starts. I'm on baby #6 and have been doing this for a while. I always drink red raspberry leaf tea the entire pregnancy and never went into labor before 39 weeks but my labors have been very productive and pretty quick

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
