Those whose toddlers are having tantrums

I try and give a countdown until nappy change, so I say to my little one, 2 minutes until nappy change, he just nods his head at me and then I do 1 minute and then I say okay it's nappy change time. He still puts up a fight sometimes with it, I just try and sing to him or let him hold something like my keys or something he doesn't usually have. Once finished he likes to put his own nappy in the bin and I praise him on how helpful he is x

Extreme distraction tactics, grab a toy that’s not a horse or duck and pretend it’s galloping or quacking over her head, usually she’ll look confused then start laughing, it doesn’t always work though! Or I start making silly loud vocalisations going up and down. My neighbours will think I’m mad 😂

Seconded on distraction techniques! I keep a stash of finger puppets and those little library mini books by the changing table for assistance and ask my daughter to do the accompanying animal noises or tell me which colour she thinks the animals are etc! We also find singing quite loud, cheerful songs (the grand old duke is a winner right now) helps! Xx

I usually sing a song in hopes it will distract him lol

I feel it’s like fighting a bear or crocodile with my lg at the moment saw my mum change her earlier good as gold!! I’ve got some pull ups to try and make it quicker

I give him a toy or put my camera on my phone

Unfortunately singing doesn't work for us, he just gets more annoyed 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ve tried everything, some changes are better than others but none are tantrum free. I just get it done as quickly as I can. Also no idea where her dislike of nappy changes came from. She’s always been very good up until a month or so ago.

Yep to distraction, I throw his trousers of his face to play peek a boo lol
