I’m still like 5 months out from baby coming but I’m trying to mentally and physically prepare. My first c-section was a nightmare, I could move my legs with the epidural by the time I had to have the surgery and was told it was fine but I felt so much of my c-section that the idea of going through it again sends me into the stratosphere of anxiety attacks… recovery was hard too, I had a lot of built up gas and struggled to move about. So I’m trying to plan to make my second c-section a much better experience because I know from others that my experience was the exception not the normal.
Any tips on how to get my body ready so that I don’t get so much trapped wind? That was almost worse than the muscle soreness 😅
I’m starting to strengthen my arm muscles because I remember having to rely on them quite a bit. I really struggled with in and out of bed because ours is so high but our sofa is so uncomfortable I don’t really want to sleep on that either…
I’m also hoping that this time around I can request for baby to be put on my chest during the suturing up portion. So I still get the golden hour I never got with my first and maybe my husband won’t be forced out of the room with the baby like he was with my first.
But any and all tips and tricks are much appreciated! Or little magical moments that made your csections a happy memory are definitely wanted! And if you just want to share your happy c-section story it would be encouraging to just reiterate to my anxiety that I will NOT have a repeat of my first one. 😅😬

I would definitely make sure that they give you anti-gas meds right away. Like you I had that problem with my C-section and it was a nightmare!

Hey love, if you wanna message me or I can message you, I had a very similar situation with my first c section and I just had my second last Friday and I’m already able to be up and moving around with limited pains and we actually took our first walk of the neighborhood yesterday. There’s a few things I did differently 🩵

I remember crying and being like my stomach hurts soooo bad! And my husband is like, “do you want me to call for more pain meds?” And I was like, “NO! I want to FART!”😂😅

yes I’d love to know anything you did differently, I want this to be as much of a positive experience as it can be😅

yep! Probably the worst part of it too was that I actually threw up from the pain of it, so I REALLY don’t want to have it happen again. Good luck!!

could you share with me too please?
