Recently had my second baby boy. All was well until week 3 when I started struggling with breastfeeding . He mostly gets frustrated because he can’t latch on and cries a lot.i feel so guilty and sad that I can’t get him to feed properly and he’s stuck on the bottle. Watched a few videos and tried different positions but nothing worked. Any advice on what to do and how to fix this?

Ask your health visitor for help! She should be able to advise you or provide you with lactation consultants or teams, or local breastfeeding cafes/groups. May also refer you to get baby checked for a tongue tie or if there’s something causing the struggle to latch. There’s lots of resources available, do ask for them!

My 2nd was so full of cold and bunged up a week after being born thanks to catching a cold from her older toddler brother and just forgot how to latch and couldn’t feed because of this illness. I spent 24 hours pumping and feeding from a syringe cause she was so small and was so worried she wouldn’t latch again… she always loved to be bounced on the birth ball and for some reason the next day I tried to get her to latch while I gentle bounced on the ball - she literally latched within 4 minutes and I was so relieved. Any type of movement your baby likes?

I did get help with the positioning before but after 2 days we were back again struggling. I was nervous and scared to ask for help again. Tried to reach out to the health visitor a few times and couldn’t get through. Gave up the whole thing until yesterday I was lucky enough to get the midwife appointment next week. I am still trying to find a solution from home

I might try the birth ball idea and see if it works

Thanks for the advice everyone. I was hesitant to talk abt it on here but am glad I did
