My daughter has only slept through the night twice but it doesn’t bother me. I don’t think I’ve slept through the night more than a handful of times in my entire adult life (prior to pregnancy). I’m pretty sure my mom doesn’t sleep through the night either.
Am I the only one? I see people kind of bragging that their kid already sleeps through the night but mine doesn’t and I kind of don’t care if she doesn’t. Or like other people ask me about it all the time like it’s a big deal and I feel like it’s not.
What am I missing?

Some babies just have higher sleep needs (some just wake more to eat and that's not abnormal). My youngest, so far, has not slept more than 4 hours, maybe 4.5 hours, a night. Which is 10x better than my first. He was up every 2 hours.
My oldest (2yrs) didn't start sleeping 6+ hours a night until about 10 or 11 months. He still doesn't always sleep from bedtime to wake up. He'll wake up around 4 or 5 for about 30minutes or less, then put himself back to sleep
But, you make a great point. Most adults don't even sleep through the night. My husband is up at least 2-3x a night, before I had an infant again, I woke at least once a night.

Some babies just don’t. Sometimes it’s because they get hungry if they don’t eat as much during the day they will wake to get the rest of their calories at night. But it’s very normal for some babies to just not sleep.
