Baby measuring in the 96th percentile

I had a growth scan at 32 weeks and was told by the sonographer that bub was measuring 3-4 weeks ahead. I'm 35 weeks and today I had an obstetrician appointment to discuss the results of the growth scan and I was told that my baby is measuring in the 96th percentile.

The fundal height is also measuring about 3 weeks ahead.

I have gestational diabetes and I know that that can cause bub to a little bigger than usual.

I have to have another growth scan next week

Should I be concerned about the measurements?

Try not to stress to much. They are hardly accurate. I was told my son is measuring at 3kg and he came out 4 kg.
If the drs feel your at risk they will have a plan

This podcast is super informative and may help you ease your mind or make a decision if obgyns suggest intervention.

I had GD aswell and while I wasn’t measuring as far ahead as you, I was about ‘2 weeks ahead’.
He was meant to be this big chungus of a baby and he was 3.36kg at birth 😂
They will keep an eye on you and Bub the next couple of weeks! They will come up with a plan that best suits you guys. I hope everything works out the way you want it to xx

I'm going to discuss the possibility of being induced a week early because I've been feeling really uncomfortable, heavy, my hips ache, my lower back aches to the point that I can barely sleep and when bub moves it actually hurts.

I never experienced this with my other kids but I also didn't have GD with any of them

I was 96th percentile at 36weeks I think from memory no gd but they said she was going to be a big baby… she came out 47cm long and 3.22kgs 🥹 perfect size. They love to scare mums and I’m sick of it tbh. Nearly every mum has the same experience of being told you’re having a big baby 😠

My belly measured normal range entire pregnancy and I was low risk so no growth scans, only at my 39wk appointment did a MW say “he’s gunna be decent size” even though I was in line with all measurements and normal weight gain. Pushed out a 4.225kg monster after 20hrs of labour at 40w3d. Talk about first time birth trauma 😂

I was 96th percentile at that time too and my fundal height was measuring 4 weeks ahead. No GD, but both hubby and I are tall-ish. She came out close to 4kg and 92 percentile. They had to take bloods three times every few hrs to make sure her sugars were ok, but after that it was all good.

I had a C section (for other reasons), so she came out at 39 weeks.

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Homebirth?

I am thinking I want a homebirth (second baby) for a few different reasons but my husband is very against it, he is worried about things going wrong and we are a 30 minute drive from the hospital. Has anyone been in a similar position and what did you end up doing? Any advice? 🙏

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
