Does anyone use the IKEA Hemnes daybed for their toddler/child

I’m thinking about getting this for when we transition our little one to a big boy bed. I like that you can pull it out to be a double as he’s quite a bad sleeper so would give me the option of sleeping in his room comfortably.

I am aware it’s not actually a toddler bed though so I’m not 100% sure I’m making the right choice.

I also heard that the mattress size isn’t a standard single so not sure if that would make it hard to buy bedding?

Thanks in advance!

I have one in our guest room, it's quite high up due to the drawers and even more when it's pushed in as a single as you stack the mattresses.

I got the sheets from IKEA and a normal double duvet.

I'd suggest different handles as they are quite sharp and stick out so getting in and out a toddler could catch themselves on them

Hey! Yeah we have it for our 2 year old. She absolutely loves it! But she always sleeps in the double so set myself up here 😂

Yep used it to transition both mine from co sleeping pulled out to king so I could jump in with them on bad nights. Then once sleeping through pushed back into single so they had more room to play in their room again x

Ow and we slept sideways on it pulled out initially then the top/bottom panel act as bed guard 👌

We’ve always had one in our spare room and plan to use it for our toddler when he outgrows his cotbed.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
